Presets are common sizes only. Always match the size given in your form’s official notification.
DPI is used only when the unit is mm, cm or inches. Leave it at 300 if the form does not mention it.

What this signature resizer does
Most people sign on a plain paper, click a photo with their phone, and try to upload it to an application form. The upload often fails: the file is too big, the paper looks grey, there are shadows, or the signature is tiny in the middle of a large empty picture.
This tool fixes all of that in one step. It whitens the paper, darkens the ink, removes the empty space around your signature, resizes it to the exact width and height you enter, and keeps the file under your KB limit. It all runs in your browser, so your signature is not uploaded anywhere.
How to use it
- Press Choose your signature photo or scan and select your picture.
- Pick a size preset or enter the width and height from your form. Change the unit if your form uses mm or cm.
- Enter the maximum KB (and a minimum KB if your form has one).
- Keep Clean up the signature and Remove the empty space ticked for the best result. Tick Make the ink darker if the strokes look thin or light.
- Press Resize signature, look at the preview, and download the file.
How to take a good signature photo
The tool works best when the original is clear. A few minutes of care here saves you many retries.
- Use plain white paper without lines or a printed border. Lined paper leaves faint marks that are hard to remove.
- Sign with a black or dark blue pen. A gel or ball pen with a medium tip works better than a thin pencil or a light pen.
- Sign large. A bigger signature keeps its detail when it is shrunk to a small size like 140 x 60 pixels.
- Use daylight. Place the paper near a window, and avoid your own shadow falling on the page.
- Hold the phone straight above the paper. Angled photos make the signature look bent.
Why signature uploads get rejected
- The file is above the KB limit because a full phone photo is used.
- The signature is very small inside a large picture, so it becomes unreadable after resizing.
- The paper is grey or yellow, with shadows, so the signature looks faint.
- The format is wrong. Many forms accept only JPG or JPEG.
- The signature does not match the one on other documents, or has been typed or drawn with a mouse instead of being signed by hand. Forms usually want your real handwritten signature.
What "Keep signature shape" and "Stretch" mean
Signature boxes on forms are wide and short, but your signature may have a different shape. Keep signature shape places the signature inside the size without changing its proportions and adds white space around it, so the handwriting never looks squashed. Stretch to fill the size makes the signature touch all edges, which can distort it, so use it only if the form insists on it.
Why the file is often very small
A signature on a white background has very little detail, so the file size can be tiny, sometimes under 10 KB. That is normal. If your form asks for a minimum size and the file falls below it, try turning off the clean-up option or use a larger pixel size. Always check the number the form gives.
Is my signature safe?
Yes. The image is processed on your own device, inside your browser. It is not sent to our website or stored. When you close the page, it is gone.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a signature photo taken on my phone?
Yes, a phone photo works well if it is taken on plain white paper in good light.
What if my signature looks light after resizing?
Tick Make the ink darker and resize again. Signing with a darker, bolder pen also helps.
Why did the tool say no signature ink was detected?
The signature may be too light, or the picture may be empty or blurry. Take a fresh photo with a dark pen and better light, then try again.
Which file format is the result?
A JPG file, which nearly all application forms accept.
Can I use this for a thumb impression or a photo?
This tool is made for signatures. For photos, use our Photo Resizer.
Which size should I enter?
Use the size written in the official notification or application page. Sizes change between exams and years, and the presets here are only common examples.
Is this tool free?
Yes, it is free with no sign-up.
